Hopper-Lamphear is a premiere custom home building company servicing
South Eastern Michigan. The owners have been close friends for over
20 years and in 1999 joined forces to start building custom homes.
After Three years of building for friends and family the partners
felt they had enough experience to strike out in the highly
competitive market of custom home building.
The term custom as it relates to home construction has a very broad
definition. Many builders call themselves custom builders and in
fact they build 99% of their home on speculation they can sell it to
a client they’ve never even met before they started the design and
construction of the house. Now we ask you how can the house be
custom if the end user isn’t even involved in the design process? At
Hopper-Lamphear we build nothing before we meet the owner. Every
thing we build is built with the owners involvement from the
beginning and the product is truly customized to the home home owners
needs, wants and budget.
Hopper Lamphear looks for the client who wants to be educated. Home
prices can very from under $100.00 per s.f. to well into the
hundreds of dollars per s.f. we’ve built projects that cost over
$500.00 per s.f. and projects that have cost $90.00 per s.f. There
are reasons for these huge price swings and we look for customer who
wants to understand the difference.
